Sadly I didn’t strike oil in the garden this morning and we’re not moving to Beverly Hills (more like Halton Hills). The Land Cruiser is, errr, packed and we’re off on our “oh my god, are we mad?” trial run tomorrow. There are about 3 cubic centimetres of space left inside the car. The roof rack is totally full. We’re camping for a single night with the Lloyds (who we are meeting in Botswana on the trip) in the De Hoop Nature Reserve – about 3 hours from Cape Town:
The idea is to watch some whales, play some tennis, fire up a braai, do some swimming, engage in tent-putting-up time trials, car loading and unloading races, and possibly consider our really bad purchase decisions (tent too damned big, not enough space, too much this, not enough that). And then drink lots of red wine in the dark.

have fun, you mad lot xx
Don’t forget the corkscrew!! 🙂
Did you beat the time we helped you set on 7 November taking down the tent?
Hope all went well this weekend – good luck in sorting out the ‘too much this’ and ‘not enough of that’!
Just found your blog – will keep watching your progress.
My guess is too much “stuff”, not enough red wine!
